Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Metabolic Health to help build AI-powered features in the Google Health app focused on nutrition and metabolic health goals.

You will lead architecture, design high-impact modules, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that empower users to manage weight and wellness at scale. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with agentic development.

Responsibilities

• Work with Executive Engineers, cross-functional peers, and leadership to craft a roadmap and technical deliverables for the agentic experience in the Google Health app related to Metabolic Health, Nutrition, GLP-1, and chronic disease management as it pertains to nutrition.
• Scope out, estimate, and architect high-level features and agentic workflows that help users create and achieve their nutrition, weight, and metabolic health goals in the Google Health app. Design infrastructure to accelerate hill-climbing and evaluations, and develop clinical-grade AutoRaters.
• Mentor and lead other software engineers, helping safeguard and bring up the quality of the team.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Familiarity with data analysis and research techniques.
