Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Infrastructure, Core in San Jose, CA. This role demands ownership of outcomes, solving ambiguous problems, and influencing stakeholders across a broad tech stack, including large-scale systems and networks.

You will drive architecture and deliverables, and help shape foundational technology for Google's flagship products. As part of the Core team, you will design, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software while collaborating across teams.

• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or related compute/storage/hardware experience.

• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

US: $207,000 - $300,000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
