Rippling is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Run Management in New York, NY. You will lead the technical architecture of the global payroll calculation engine and own end-to-end delivery of high-impact features across multiple countries.

You will drive the Calculations team's roadmap, tackle complex technical challenges, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product Management and HRIS to deliver cohesive platform solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in building large-scale distributed backend systems.
• Experience managing the complete project lifecycle and launches.
• Deep expertise in system architecture and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture for the payroll calculation engine across multiple countries.
• Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact features from design to deployment.
• Drive the technical roadmap for the Calculations team, address bottlenecks and refactors.
• Tackle ambiguous technical challenges and turn them into actionable plans for the team.
• Exercise expert technical judgment to build scalable, maintainable systems.
• Raise the engineering bar by mentoring engineers and leading reviews and observability.
• Collaborate with Product Management, HRIS, and engineering leaders to deliver platform-wide solutions.
