Job summary

Horizon3 is a remote cybersecurity company focused on autonomous pentesting and attack path remediation. The team blends former Special Operations cyber operators with startup engineers, delivering secure, scalable solutions for complex environments.

This role leads the end-to-end technical vision for a workstream, mentoring engineers, raising the bar on design and quality, and translating product goals into concrete roadmaps. Remote and hybrid options are available, with some roles in Chicago.

Job description

• Drive the end-to-end technical vision for the workstream, from blank doc to shipped product.
• Set and raise the technical bar through design reviews, code quality, and operational discipline.
• Mentor engineers and build frameworks for others to excel.

Product-Minded Execution:

• Translate ambiguous product goals into concrete technical roadmaps.
• Make build vs. buy vs. integrate decisions with business context.
• Partner closely with Product in PRD reviews and sprint planning.

Agentic Systems & Platform Expertise:

• Design durable execution for long-running, resumable agent runs.
• Ensure tenant scope and permissions are enforced by the systems the agent calls.
• Architect a connector framework over third-party security control APIs.

Compensation & Culture:

• Base salary range: $229,000-$270,000 annually, plus equity.
