Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer on the MailChimp Identity team to lead the next generation Identity system. You will guide a team to deliver secure, scalable frontend and backend capabilities and build Kubernetes-based services that enable future business strategy across MailChimp and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing, maintaining and innovating enterprise cloud apps, frontend focus.
• Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and delivery ownership.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience; strong coding in JS/React and Python; Java/J2EE knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead Identity frontend including hosted authoring environment, admin UIs and runtime UI generation.
• Architect and develop software, prototypes, or POCs for the Identity platform.
• Gather requirements, write specs, plan tests and projects; drive delivery.
• Mentor engineers, demonstrate technical excellence, and lead a small team.

Overview

Come join us as a Staff Software Engineer on the MailChimp Identity team. In this role you would be leading the charge to build the next generation Identity system that enables the future business strategy that spans MailChimp and Quickbooks. You will be leading a team of talented engineers to build innovative new user experiences, build cutting edge new Kubernetes services that delivers new secure, resilient, and world class capabilities that drives the new business model for Intuit.

Responsibilities

• In this role you will be the overall lead of Identity front end, which includes a hosted authoring environment, administrative UIs, and runtime application UI generations
• Architecting and developing software, prototypes, or proofs of concepts (POC’s)
• Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
• Acting as the technical subject matter expert: mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
• Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users
• Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
• Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results
• Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, frontend or backend software.
• Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience designing, developing, maintaining, and innovating enterprise level, cloud native applications or platform, specifically in the front end
• Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, technical go to person, and cross-functional leader
• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
• Strong coding skills with the following: JavaScript/React, Python
• Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Kotlin would be helpful
• Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• 3+ years’ experience with micro services architecture and API designs (REST, GraphQL)
• A passion for operational excellence and DevOps mentality
• Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Expertise in the Software design/architecture process
• Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development
