Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Agent Engagement and Experience team within the Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA) org. You will anchor new projects, set technical direction, and mentor engineers while architecting distributed systems that enhance CX and compliance outcomes at scale.

You'll architect backend services using Go, gRPC, GraphQL, and cloud-native tech, collaborating across time zones to deliver end-to-end improvements in agent workflows and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go (Golang) and building scalable backend services, including API development (gRPC, GraphQL) and event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ).
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps tooling (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD).
• Proven track record leading technical projects end-to-end and mentoring engineers.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver distributed backend systems and foundational infrastructure components.
• Define strategic roadmaps with engineering management and stakeholders.
• Build and scale high-reliability services spanning design to production deployment.
• Mentor engineers on design, testing, and operations best practices.
• Collaborate across time zones to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
