Job summary

Google seeks software engineers to advance next-generation platforms and devices. You will lead end-to-end debug architecture, triage pipelines, and privacy-first diagnostics across device ecosystems and cloud analytics.

You will partner with Silicon, Hardware, Firmware, OS, Security, Privacy, Product, and Cloud teams to ensure robust debug hooks, trace points, and crash resilience from day one, in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience with full stack development across back-end (Java/Python/Golang/C++) and front-end (JS/TS/HTML/CSS).
• 5 years of experience with software debugging and troubleshooting.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead cross-functional debug and tracing strategy across software layers.
• Design distributed tracing, crash collection, and state synchronization mechanisms.
• Define post-mortem crash dumping, watchdog handling, and recovery flows.
• Define PII handling, data sanitation, redaction, and governance for debug artifacts.
• Drive requirements for automated log parsers, RCA tools, and observability dashboards.
