Job summary

Google Inc. is hiring software engineers to join the Cloud AI Data Engineering team, tackling large-scale data processing and AI-driven product insights.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll design robust pipelines, influence feature rollouts, and collaborate across product teams to power dashboards and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize scalable batch and streaming data pipelines for Gemini Enterprise.
  • Develop high-performance data warehousing for search, AI models and analytics.
  • Implement data governance, quality monitoring, and alerting for data trust.
  • Enforce data privacy and security policies, including access controls.

  • Design and optimize highly scalable batch and streaming data pipelines to efficiently load enterprise data into Gemini Enterprise, ensuring cost-efficiency and data freshness.
  • Develop high-performance data warehousing solutions, applying best practices in schema design and data modeling to support search, AI models, and analytics.
  • Implement data governance, quality monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure the ongoing integrity and trustworthiness of the platform's data.
  • Enforce strict data privacy and security policies, managing access controls and data wipeout procedures for all handled enterprise data.

Partner with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to define requirements and deliver data infrastructure that drives new product capabilities.
