Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to work on next-generation technologies powering billions of users. You will contribute to projects spanning AI/ML, distributed systems, networking, data storage, and security, with opportunities to switch teams as the company grows.

The AI and Infrastructure team drives breakthroughs by delivering AI capabilities at massive scale, supporting Google Cloud, Googlers, and users worldwide. Individual pay includes a bonus target and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with network architecture, ethernet switching, software development and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work on the latest AI/ML networks for TPUs and GPUs.
• Work with hardware and software systems, programming the data plane and control plane for networking applications which drive the world's largest network infrastructure.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and enhancement of software solutions.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Good understanding of modern AI/ML infrastructure, ideally including network architecture.
