Job summary

Crusoe is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to make Crusoe Cloud's container registry fast and reliable as the platform scales. You will own the evolution of the registry, drive its scaling roadmap, and be accountable for performance, reliability, and recoveries in production.

This is a full-time role located in San Francisco. You will set architecture patterns, drive cross-team alignment, and mentor engineers while writing code in Go, Rust, Java, or C++ as part of a distributed systems team

Qualifications

• Proven success designing, scaling, and hardening distributed systems under high-load production environments.
• Deep practical experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing distributed systems with latency, throughput, and caching considerations.
• Thrives in transforming ambiguous performance problems into measured action and durable fixes.
• Has owned critical systems from design through production and operationally stressed them.
• Keeps customers top of mind and translates needs into actionable code changes.
• Strong fundamentals in microservices and cloud-native infrastructure technologies.
• Mentored teammates and raised the team's technical bar.

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural direction and scaling roadmap for Crusoe Cloud's container registry.
• Drive end-to-end changes from design through production with focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Push performance strategy across the system and optimize as demand grows.
• Mentor and multiply the team by elevating architecture, design, and code review while staying hands-on.
• Influence designs across teams and respond technically when issues arise.
