Job summary

Delinea, a leader in Identity Security, seeks a senior Backend Policy Engineer to own the architecture of policy, authorization and workflow services within the Delinea Platform. You will set technical direction and mentor engineers to deliver secure, scalable identity controls.

Responsibilities include defining policy definitions, real-time evaluation, and enforcing access across cloud and on-prem environments. 8+ years backend experience, C#/.NET, Azure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD are required.

Qualifications

• Typically 8+ years building production backend systems.
• Strong skills in C# and .NET.
• Experience with distributed, event-driven microservices and messaging such as RabbitMQ or Service Bus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Kubernetes and CI/CD.

Summary

The Policy team owns the services that decide who can access what on the Delinea Platform and then make that access happen. Our services let customers define access policies with conditions like time windows, MFA requirements and access levels, and evaluate them in real time. They also deliver those policies to the systems that enforce them, both in the cloud and on-premises, and grant and revoke just-in-time access to servers and resources. In this role you will be the technical lead across the team's services. You'll set technical directions, make key design decisions, and help the engineers around you grow. This role reports to the Engineering Manager of the Policy team.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of the team's policy, authorization and workflow services.
• Design and evolve how policies are defined, evaluated and enforced, including conditions, access levels and just-in-time access.
• Make sure access is granted and revoked correctly across event-driven, multi-tenant services.
• Work with other platform teams on integrations and changes that span services.
• Set the team's standards for code quality, testing and operational readiness.
• Mentor engineers and turn product requirements into clear technical plans.

What You'll Need

• Typically 8 or more years building production backend systems.
• Strong skills in C# and .NET.
• Experience with distributed, event-driven microservices and messaging such as RabbitMQ or Service Bus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and work through complex problems with limited direction.

We'd Love To See

• Experience with policy engines such as Open Policy Agent (Rego).
• Background in security, identity or privileged access management.
• Familiarity with Azure Cosmos DB, Redis or Angular.
