Job summary

Curri, a fast‑growing last‑mile logistics company, seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural direction and guide multiple projects toward a coherent technical strategy. You will still write production code while mentoring engineers and unblocking teams across the stack.

You will shape scalable systems, drive AI‑assisted delivery practices, and collaborate with leadership to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps. Remote-friendly with HQ in Ventura, CA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building production software with architecture ownership beyond a single team or project.
• Experience leading system design for scalable, reliable production infrastructure.
• Full-stack capability across backend and UI to participate in architecture reviews across the stack.
• Fluency with AI-paired delivery and ability to coach others on using it well.
• Demonstrated mentorship track record and ability to help others grow.
• Strong, direct communication for diverse audiences including engineers, PMs and leadership.
• Comfort operating with influence rather than authority to drive technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Architect and guide the design of scalable, long-lasting systems across multiple teams and projects.
• Lead architecture reviews and design discussions to ensure coherence of the technical strategy.
• Unblock engineers by tackling tough problems and clearing paths for teams.
• Stay hands-on and ship production code regularly, using AI tooling for design and code review.
• Mentor engineers at all levels and be a multiplier for the team.
• Identify systemic risks and drive cross-team investment to fix them.
• Translate business priorities into technical roadmaps with engineering leadership.
