Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the App Promotion engineering team, driving delivery from beta to GA and shaping the advertiser experience in Ads Manager. You will partner across Product, Design, and PMM to refine campaigns, targeting, optimization, and reporting.

Ideal candidates have several years of engineering management experience in full stack and/or mobile environments, with a track record in performance or ads engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or a related field.
• Several years of engineering management experience leading full stack and/or mobile teams shipping production systems.
• Experience in performance, growth, or ads engineering for apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team responsible for App Promotion and App Install Optimization from beta through GA.
• Partner with Product, Design, and PMM to define advertiser experience for App Promotion in Ads Manager.
• Collaborate with Ads Quality, ML, and infra teams to ensure robust serving, modeling, and experimentation for app promotion campaigns.
• Close SKAN and MMP attribution gaps and ensure App Promotion reporting is accurate and trusted.
• Establish and maintain engineering practices for App Promotion, including design reviews, experimentation standards, on‑call, monitoring, and incident response.
• Hire, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineers; foster inclusion and operational excellence.

What you'll do

• Work with Ads Quality, ML, and infra teams to ensure robust serving, modeling, and experimentation for app promotion campaigns.
• Collaborate with Measurement, Reporting, and Partner teams to close SKAN and MMP attribution gaps and ensure App Promotion reporting is accurate and trusted.
• Establish and maintain strong engineering practices for App Promotion, including design reviews, experimentation standards, on‑call, monitoring, and incident response.
• Hire, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineers; foster a culture of inclusion, learning, and operational excellence.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of engineering management experience leading full stack and/or mobile teams shipping production systems.
• Experience in performance, growth, or ads engineering, preferably with app install, app engagement, or lower‑funnel objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional projects involving Product, Data, Design, and other engineering teams.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to dive deep into architecture, data quality, and measurement details when needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain strategy, tradeoffs, and technical decisions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to building inclusive teams and promoting a sense of belonging.

In‑Office Requirement Statement

We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day‑to‑day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role. This role will need to be in the office for in‑person collaboration 1 time per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices: San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Seattle
