Job summary

Google Cloud seeks a Staff Software Engineer focused on AI/ML to push the boundaries of scalable software and machine learning. You will lead multi-disciplinary work across AI models, infrastructure, and deployment, shaping solutions used by Google Cloud customers and billions of users.

You will guide design, architecture, and delivery, mentoring teams and driving end-to-end ML initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or related ML field.
• 5 years of experience leading ML design and end-to-end ML development and deployment.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects; manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Facilitate alignment across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines; coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Lead design and implementation of ML solutions, optimize ML infrastructure, and guide data processing strategies.

• 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing end-to-end Machine Learning (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
