Apollo.io is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco, hybrid work arrangement. You will set the technical direction for the entire engineering organization, drive architectural bets, and lead a rebuild around AI and agents.

You will raise the bar engineering-wide and mentor senior engineers while partnering with leadership to steer the platform's future. You will collaborate across frontend, backend, and infrastructure tech—React, Ruby/Python, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• Experience setting technical direction across an engineering organization.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and align multiple teams behind decisions.
• Current fluency with AI-assisted development and a clear point of view on AI in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction across teams and org boundaries.
• Make long-term architectural bets shaping the platform for years.
• Set the rebuild strategy around AI and agents and translate into team directions.
• Raise engineering standards through patterns, decisions, and practices you drive.
• Multiply the output of engineers via design reviews and mentorship of senior staff.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership on technology direction.
