Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Google Ads, Full Stack, based in New York. You will lead a cross-functional frontend/backend team, shaping the architecture of complex advertising platforms and workflows, and collaborating with product, UX, and research teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software.

The role emphasizes leadership, system design, and the ability to drive initiatives across multiple teams in a high-velocity environment, with a focus on AI-enabled ad technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coach a team of 6–10 software engineers across levels. Foster a collaborative culture and actively guide career growth, design leadership, and engineering craft.
• Lead full-stack system design from databases to agentic workflows. Review designs and code, advocating for sustainable patterns that reduce technical debt.
• Partner closely with Product Management and UX bringing strong product intuition to translate business goals into well-scoped, prioritized engineering roadmaps.
• Serve as a primary technical connector across other Ad Manager engineering, AdSense, AdMob, and other partner teams.
• Balance rapid feature delivery with platform reliability, while empowering the team to build and leverage generative AI and agentic capabilities.
