ABOUT THE TEAM

The Internal AI team builds Andurils AI infrastructure and tooling that all employees across the company rely on every day. Autonomous coding agents and agentic automation systems are the cornerstone of these capabilities, and we continually push the boundaries of what AI can do in terms of code generation, workflow autonomy, and reasoning. The Internal AI team develops and maintains the underlying platform, agent frameworks, and model-serving components, and directly partners with key teams across all facets of Anduril to help them leverage AI infrastructure to automate workflows.

ABOUT THE JOB

AI is the future operating system of Anduril, and we need creative and enthusiastic AI engineers to help us realize that vision. We're seeking a highly motivated Staff Software Engineer to join a scrappy team dedicated to the continued build out of our internal AI ecosystem, encompassing infrastructure and tooling for autonomous coding and agentic automation. To succeed on this team you need to be curious, an excellent communicator, of a strong product mindset, be able to go from idea to implementation, and take ownership and pride in your work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Propose, prototype, build, and deploy agentic systems that solve real world problems, leveraging novel state-of-the-art techniques in the field
• Work cross-functionally with different business lines across Anduril to scope new solutions that address their pain points and manual workflows
• Build and maintain the data pipelines, feature workflows, and model-serving components that applied AI use cases depend on
• Learn and evangelize. You will be an expert on current AI technologies and trends (and their practical applications)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• An AI mindset; have a deep interest and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and their practical implementations
• Creative problem-solving skills with an ability to simplify workflows into modular, reusable automation components
• Raw intellectual horsepower
• 1-2 years of experience taking AI systems into production or 2-4 years of experience with traditional ML
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree
• Experience using and optimizing AI coding assistants in a collaborative production environment
• Strong stakeholder and cross-functional communication skills; able to gather workflow requirements and convert them into technical automation.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Practical experience enabling agents, skills, MCP, and other emerging AI technologies in professional environment
• Experience with process automation, event-driven architecture, and a modular / "unix daemon" mindset on software
• Experience in hyper growth startup‑like environments, with demonstrated success in scaling and maturing software development processes
• Familiarity with cloud services

US Salary Range

$220,000 - $292,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full‑time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
