Job summary

Google's Core team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and build abuse-fighting technology and scale systems that power billions of users. You will guide technical architectures, mentor engineers, and drive roadmaps across cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment.

You will influence regulatory considerations, balance trade-offs, and contribute to foundational platforms that ensure safe, coherent experiences across Google’s products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience in large-scale software design, system architecture, and technical leadership.
• 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role guiding engineering teams and defining technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on projects.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Define a multi-year technical roadmap for Child Safety systems.
• Oversee architecture for high-scale distributed systems, ensuring maintainability and capacity to evolve with changing abuse patterns.
• Advise leaders and cross-functional partners on technical capabilities as they relate to regulatory requirements.
