Inovalon is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer L5 to drive Java/Spring Boot microservices across high-throughput, multi-tenant systems. You will design components with strong test coverage, deliver secure, scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS, and mentor engineers.
You will work on client authentication, login, and dashboard features, with a focus on RBAC, SAML/OIDC/OAuth, and API Gateway patterns in a distributed architecture.
The Staff Software Development Engineer L5 works across all service aspects of high-throughput and multi-tenant systems, with the ability to design components carefully, handle errors properly, and deliver clean, well-factored code with strong test coverage and long-term maintainability. This role sits within the Provider Business Unit and contributes to Inovalon’s foundation platform, which powers the client-facing login experience, dashboard, and core application layer. The engineer will work in a Java and Spring Boot environment, building and maintaining microservices-based architecture with a focus on security, identity, and scalable cloud-native infrastructure on AWS.

Work Location: If the US position is listed as remote, employees who reside within a 40-mile radius of one of our office locations in Tampa, FL; Canonsburg, PA; or Bowie, MD will follow a hybrid work schedule and are expected to work in the office two days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
