Northrop Grumman is seeking a senior PLM software developer to provide support for the Mission Systems Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program. This program consolidates multiple existing PLM systems into a centralized PLM environment that forms the foundation for the Digital Transformation of NGMS Engineering and Manufacturing. The PLM environment contains Engineering and Manufacturing product and process data for the sector and will integrate with other software systems including ERP, MES, and multiple CAD/Engineering authoring tools. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on implementing Digital Threads and Digital Twins, which are exciting in the current end-to-end digital product development environment. This position will allow for a remote work arrangement.

The selected developer will work with existing team members to analyze, design, build, and implement software changes to deliver the future sector-wide PLM system. They will work in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment with many teams across the country, with Engineering and Manufacturing SMEs to harmonize sector processes and business rules, and to create a PLM system for the future. This position will provide a great opportunity to work with experienced engineers who work on integrating vendor-supplied tools requiring heavy customization and coding in C++ for Teamcenter (supplied by Siemens) product and XML mapping/coding for the integrator tool (supplied by eCube). In addition to working with and picking up experience in new technical areas, this position will also provide exposure to business acumen in terms of understanding business transactions, workflows, interactions between various systems, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, plan, develop, test, and implement Teamcenter configurations in an Agile environment.
  • Develop and support integrations with other applications required to interface with the Teamcenter via custom-made or in-built APIs.
  • Analyze and model data to map between the different environments.
  • Propose and design development solutions based on architectural guidelines and solution roadmaps.
  • Debug problems end users report by working with the appropriate technical teams to develop, test, and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in code peer reviews and contribute towards the community of practice.
  • Track requirements, tasks, and test cases using Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Maintain proper software configuration management using Git.
  • As necessary, provide support for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
  • Provide demos and support to users as required.
  • Work with C++ or Java to create and/or customize modules in Teamcenter.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant software development experience, or a Masters degree with 10 years of relevant software development experience, or a PhD with 8 years of relevant software development experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 16 years of relevant software development experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  • 7+ years of Teamcenter Unified customization experience, to include creating/updating workflows, adding/enhancing handlers, Code level customization using ITK, BMIDE, AWC, etc.
  • Experience working on enterprise-wide PLM projects, on a Siemens Teamcenter Unified platform, that are part of the larger vision of digital transformation goals such as Digital Thread and Digital Twins.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a lead role and/or guiding less experienced developers with proposing design solutions and/or patterns based on existing architectural runways.
  • Experience working in an Agile team and collaborating on team cadences such as sprint planning, backlog refinements, etc.
  • Experience working on system integrations between Teamcenter and other downstream systems such as SAP.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to work remotely with a geographically diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working experience and exposure to engineering and manufacturing environment processes such as EC, MC, EBOM, MBOM, BPO, etc.
  • Experience with Teamcenter integration using other engineering authoring tools such as NX or CATIA, Xpedition, or Capital.
  • Experience working with Teamcenter implementation in the Aerospace & Defense sector.
  • A solid understanding of Digital Thread and Digital Twins.
  • Experience working with Microsoft TFS or similar Agile collaboration tools.
  • The ability to complete assignments independently with minimal oversight, on tight schedules.
  • The ability to rapidly learn new technologies and then share domain and tool knowledge with teammates to contribute to the growth of the team.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical concepts into broadly consumable information.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
