Job summary

Fivetran in Dublin is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to own the performance and reliability of our data platform. You will work with engineering, product, and security teams to keep systems robust and scalable in a fast-growing SaaS environment.

You’ll focus on deployment pipelines, incident response, and proactive reliability improvements, with a hybrid work model that combines in‑office collaboration two days per week and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with managed Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Proficient in Python or shell scripting; Go experience a plus.
• Strong Linux internals knowledge and administration.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (VPNs, Private Links, PSC).
• Experience using AI tools for code review, automation, and incident analysis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain reliability and robustness of production infrastructure by monitoring availability, capacity, and throughput.
• Evolve systems by integrating reliability into the product roadmap.
• Coordinate fixes for critical bugs for support or sales needs.
• Recommend production infrastructure improvements to ensure high availability.
• Ensure automated deployment across environments through scripting and tooling.
• Collaborate with security to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities.

About the Role

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a high‑performance, experienced engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team. You will work closely with engineering teams, product managers, and support, sales engineers, and solution architects to build the future of the Fivetran Data Platform Reliability.

This is a full‑time position based out of our Dublin office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in‑person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the Site Reliability Engineering team, you will take ownership over the overall performance and reliability of Fivetran’s infrastructure, the robustness of the deployment pipeline, and timely and effective incident response and resolution.

• Maintain reliability and robustness of Fivetran’s production infrastructure by monitoring availability, capacity, and throughput.
• Evolve systems by adding reliability into our product roadmap.
• Coordinate prioritization or fix critical bugs for support or sales requirements as needed.
• Make recommendations for production infrastructure improvements to ensure 100% availability.
• Ensure scalable artifact deployment to all environments through automation scripts.
• Monitor infrastructure vulnerabilities and work with the security team to remediate them.

Skills We’re Looking For

• Expertise in managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, and GKE).
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms and related tooling: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Terraform, Ansible, Buildkite, Pulumi, and Argo CD.
• Experience in Python/Shell scripting and Go; bonus if you have Java.
• Experience with Linux operating system internals and administration.
• Experience with cloud networking such as site‑to‑site VPNs, Private Links, and Private Service Connect (GCP).
• AI‑assisted engineering: experience using AI tools for code review, automation, incident analysis, documentation, and reducing operational toil.

Bonus Skills

• 5+ years of experience working with SaaS products at scale.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
