Job Description And Duties
Under general direction of the Branch Chief of the Office of Quality Assurance, the Staff Services Manager (SSM) III provides management of the Office of Quality Assurance’s programs, through subordinate supervisors. The position will oversee the work necessary to advance statewide efforts related to quality of services and outcomes across the statewide system of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This position offers hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. Starting July 1, 2025, all employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week, in accordance with Executive Order N-22-25.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for DDS’ hybrid telework schedule, subject to guidelines. Work is performed in an office environment. The role involves managing tight timelines and multiple priorities, with sitting for extended periods while using a computer or reviewing documents.

Department Information
The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and related conditions. Services are delivered through state-operated centers, community facilities, and contracts with regional centers.
The DDS office is located at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, CA, featuring amenities such as retail space, a café, outdoor seating, a fitness center, kitchenette, and lactation rooms.
Special Requirements
Applicants must submit a typed Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) in 12-point Arial font, single-spaced, no more than two pages, answering specific questions related to their experience with developmental services, management, team leadership, and group facilitation.
Failure to submit the SOQ or meet the minimum qualifications may result in disqualification.
