Job summary

UCSF Health in San Francisco is seeking an MR Radiologic Technologist to provide expert MRI services under physician direction. You will operate high-field MRI systems, ensure safety, coordinate patient flow, and manage data acquisition, processing, and archiving with precision.

You will train staff on new technologies, maintain equipment per manufacturer specifications, and may oversee MRI service coverage in the MR Supervisor's absence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school.
• Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts as well as coverage for weekends and holidays.
• For Staff classification: Minimum 1 year training experience with high field MRI system or one year of previous healthcare imaging experience in an acute care setting.
• For Sr. classification: Minimum three (3) years’ experience with high field MRI system in an acute care setting. Be able to perform 3 of the 6 specialty scans

The MR Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment including high field strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. The MR Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data. This position is responsible for training new staff as well as existing staff on new technologies. The incumbent will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications, reporting all problems appropriately. Incumbent may be required to oversee provision of MRI services and staffing coverage in absence of the MR Supervisor.

Incumbent may be required to oversee provision of MRI services and staffing coverage in absence of the MR Supervisor.

The MR Radiologic Technologist must have flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays and must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center MR locations.

The MR Radiologic Technologist will comply and adhere to department protocols, UCSF policies and procedures, Department of Radiology policies and procedures and other applicable work rules and regulations. Incumbent works independently and under general supervision. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in a calm manner even in stressful situations. Incumbent will interact with Radiologist, Clinicians and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness. Incumbent must be able to perform all job functions deemed by Department of Radiology.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school.
• Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts as well as coverage for weekends and holidays. Flexibility to rotate to other sites when necessary.
• For Staff classification:: Minimum 1 year training experience with high field magnetic resonance system or one year of previous healthcare imaging experience in an acute care setting.
• For Sr. classification: Minimum three (3) years’ experience with high field magnetic resonance system in an acute care setting. Be able to perform 3 of the 6 specialty scans

• Cardiac Imaging
• Fetal Imaging
• Whole body Pediatric scans
• Special procedures ( HIFU/DBS etc.)
• Pediatric/Adult Anesthesia
• Breast Imaging
• For Principal classification: Minimum 7 years’ experience with high field magnetic resonance system. Be able to perform 5 out of the 6 specialty scans:
• Cardiac Imaging
• Fetal Imaging
• Whole body Pediatric scans
• Special procedures ( HIFU/DBS etc.)
• Pediatric Anesthesia
• Breast Imaging

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• ARRT approved MRI Certification
• BLS (CPR) Certification
• Phlebotomy/Venipuncture Certification

Preferred LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Recent work experience in an acute care setting
• CRT Licensure
• MRSO
