Job summary

Coupang in Seattle is seeking a seasoned Red Team security specialist to identify and exploit vulnerabilities across web, mobile, API, and network, and to design realistic attack simulations. You will deliver remediation guidance, lead penetration testing, and drive security improvements with tools like Burp Suite, Metasploit, Kali Linux, and Nmap.

5+ years in offensive security and strong Linux/networking knowledge are required. Seattle-based candidates preferred.

Role Overview

We are looking for a new Red Team member in our Seattle office. The ideal candidate will be passionate around security and will love to dive deep in order to understand and exploit a potential security vulnerability. If you love finding security weaknesses and use those findings to bypass technical security controls, we would love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

• Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Perform penetration testing activities on web, mobile, API and network.
• Provide remediation guidelines and improvements to the issues identified during the engagements
• Perform threat actor simulation activities (Red Team campaigns)

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical work experience in offensive security
• Proficiency on web, mobile and API testing
• Experience with common penetration testing security tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Nmap)
• Good understanding of OS security (e.g., Linux) and networking (TCP/IP)
• Proficiency with command-line tools and Linux
• Confident with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java) in order to develop scripts and tools that could aid the testing activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience in the e-commerce sector is valuable.
• Experience in cloud (e.g., AWS) and understanding the differences between Cloud and traditional data-center environments.
• Understanding of Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical Degree
• Holder of well-recognized offensive security certifications (e.g., Offensive Security like OSCP, OSCE or OSED, CREST, SANS)
• Fluent in Korean and English

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for Staff position ranges from $152K/year to $261K/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
