Job summary

Bixal, a Fairfax, VA-based consulting company, seeks a security-focused senior role to embed secure-by-design controls into a federal developer platform and policy-as-code. You will work with ISSO/ISSE functions and the Platform Enablement team to maintain FedRAMP authorization while enabling engineering velocity.

You will design identity, access, encryption, and data protection controls in production systems and lead automation for continuous monitoring and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of related experience
• Proven leadership in secure engineering practices including threat modeling and remediation
• Experience aligning controls with regulatory, privacy, and audit requirements
• Experience designing identity, access, encryption, and data protection controls in production
• Hands-on automation to reduce security risk in delivery workflows
• Experience supporting federal compliance processes (ATO) for federal systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain Tier 4 High Risk Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure-by-design controls across the platform
• Build audit-evidence automation to support continuous compliance
• Lead threat modeling, code scanning, and vulnerability remediation
• Align controls and evidence collection with federal regulatory requirements
• Design identity, access, encryption, and data protection controls in production
• Reduce security risk through automation embedded in delivery workflows
• Collaborate with ISSOs/ISSEs and Platform Enablement on ATO and ConMon activities
• Other duties as qualified and trained
