Job summary

EmpiRx Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test for the Data Engineering space to lead quality engineering and test automation. The role focuses on Databricks-based data pipelines, data validation, and AI-assisted test design across cloud environments.

You will partner with Data Engineers, DevOps, and Product Owners to implement scalable testing strategies, integrate automated checks into CI/CD, and uphold HIPAA and security standards in testing for PBM data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years related exp in tech field.
• 8+ years in Quality Engineering and Test Automation with leadership.
• 5+ years leading SDETs/QA engineers.
• 8+ years writing automated functional/regression tests.
• 3+ years with Databricks and cloud data warehouses.
• 6+ years in OOP languages and DB scripting.
• Experience with AI Coding Assistants in test contexts.
• Experience in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for QA and test automation across Data Eng.
• Define test strategies, frameworks, and AI-driven quality practices.
• Design and execute automated tests for ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, batch jobs.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Owners, and DevOps.
• Support CI/CD integration and production issue triage with AI tooling.
• Ensure HIPAA and data security compliance in tests.
