Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks a highly motivated scientist to join a basic science lab studying immune responses to infection and neurodevelopment. The role focuses on mouse models of congenital viral infection and develops procedures for data collection, analysis and publication.

The candidate will design protocols, perform statistics, contribute to publications, and assist with grant reporting, while following lab safety and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• No specific certification/professional license required.
• Laboratory Operations experience (3 Years)

Responsibilities

• Designs research protocols, including data collection, verification and management.
• Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
• Performs complex statistical analysis and writes interpretative reports.
• Documents research topics and prepares papers for publication or presentation.
• Suggests technical or procedural improvements and conducts literature searches.
• Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazards; supports animal care where applicable.
