Job summary

Runta is building runtime infrastructure that enables AI agents to run long tasks reliably. You will own the execution engine, enabling stateful runs, snapshots, resumes, and branch executions with strong crash-recovery guarantees.

You’ll work on memory capture, copy-on-write strategies, and restore latency on the critical path, while optimizing guest lifecycle and device models. A strong systems background is essential.

Qualifications

• Built systems at engine level (kernel, hypervisor, VMM, or runtime)
• Strong memory/layout and crash-recovery intuition
• Ability to reason about copy-on-write, page sharing, and dirtied state

Responsibilities

• Design snapshot/resume/branch mechanics for long-running agent processes and optimize memory capture
• Build crash recovery for stateful execution units across long runs
• Own the microVM execution layer including guest lifecycle and boot/restore timing
• Make execution recordable with robust hooks to reconstruct agent actions
• Work at the boundary between runtime and isolation layer on state persistence and resume
• Set technical bar for the systems team as an early engineer
