Job summary

Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Staff RN for the OR to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the perioperative setting.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure from Nebraska or approved compact state per Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.
  • Evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates assessment and reassessment based on patient needs per Bryan Medical Center procedures.
  • Synthesizes data to identify nursing priorities and outcomes.
  • Implements plan of care based on diagnosis and age-specific needs.
  • Executes perioperative interventions consistently with procedures.
  • Provides patient and family education to address identified needs.
  • Evaluates patient response to interventions and progress toward outcomes.
  • Incorporates cultural considerations into care plan and delivery.
  • Documents patient care according to Bryan Medical Center procedures.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team for patient care.
  • Facilitates patient transitions to next level of care.

Summary

The Staff RN - OR is responsible for meeting patient’s priority needs by assessing, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, providing and /or delegating care based on patient needs, and evaluating patients’ responses. Contributes to an efficient and effective work environment through activities including professional communication and documentation, preceptoring and/or resourcing of others.

The Staff RN supervises support staff in the delivery of patient care as described in Nebraska Statute.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Initiates assessment and reassessment based on the patient’s presenting problems/needs in accordance with Bryan Medical Center’s procedures.
  • Synthesizes pertinent initial and ongoing patient data to identify nursing priorities for care and desired outcomes/goals.
  • Integrates the patient’s plan of care based on the diagnosis and age-specific needs.
  • Executes therapeutic and/or supportive interventions, consistent with perioperative procedures.
  • Provides education for the patient and family to meet identified patient needs.
  • Evaluates the patient’s response to and effectiveness of interventions.
  • Evaluates patient’s progress toward established outcomes.
  • Incorporates cultural considerations into the plan/delivery of care.
  • Documents patient care and related information according to Bryan Medical Center procedures for documentation.
  • Provides care in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Facilitates patient’s transition to the next level of care.
  • Actively participates in continued learning opportunities and continued self-development pertinent to the work unit and duties of the job.
Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
