Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a correctional nursing role in Eden, Texas. The position offers an attractive hourly pay range and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

The RN will apply nursing skills in inmate care, assist physicians during sick calls, assess illnesses or injuries, and coordinate emergency and ongoing nursing care in an institutional setting. A current Texas RN license and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing.
• Must possess current RN licensure in the state of employment.
• One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Attend sick calls with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare lists and exam areas.
• Examine and assess inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries; refer to ER or other facilities as required.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify provider for treatment orders.
• Provide guidance, supervise and monitor nursing care provided by licensed/vocational staff.
