  • Proficiency in assessing and treating a wide range of clinical concerns and diagnoses.

Job description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Conducts psychological treatment and assessment services to families and children referred to the Behavioral Health Clinic.

  • Provides psychological therapeutic services to clients each week.
  • Completes clinical documentation accurately and within expected timeframes, ensuring content is written professionally.
  • Meets monthly clinical productivity expectations.
  • Conducts clinical, cognitive, and psychoeducational assessments.
  • Provides clinical consultation pertaining to children and families referred for services.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a referral base from Boys Town or pediatricians, schools, other treatment providers, and community referrals.
  • Obtains ongoing education related to clinical psychology, behavioral pediatrics, and clinical assessment and intervention, including CE opportunities and professional literature.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of psychology theories, principles, and practices with emphasis on behavioral pediatrics, behavioral psychology, and cognitive behavioral theories.
  • Knowledge of clinical diagnostic criteria and emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of administering, scoring, and interpreting a variety of standardized psychological tests and measures.
  • Skill in determining diagnoses, providing therapy, conducting evaluations, and administering standardized tests and measures.
  • Ability to apply psychological principles to therapeutic intervention with individuals, groups, and families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining confidentiality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical, school, and/or counseling psychology required.
  • Completion of an APA‑approved internship or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in assessing and treating a wide range of clinical concerns and diagnoses, such as disruptive behavior problems, ADHD, oppositional and defiant behavior, sleep disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and fears, motor habits, academic problems, and ASDs required.
  • Licensed (or licensable) psychologist in the state of practice required.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Other duties may be assigned as determined by a supervisor to meet the needs of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Reasonably expected to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful situations without compromising health and well‑being of self, employees, youth, or families. Work is primarily in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks but may involve occasional outside conditions, constant interruptions, inappropriate behaviors, and potential verbal or physical threats from youth.
