Job summary

onsemi is seeking a self-driven Product Quality Engineer to join the Product Quality team in Scottsdale, AZ or Allen, TX. This role owns product quality from qualification through production release to end of life, becoming the subject matter expert and collaborating with Product & Test Engineering, Customer Quality, Central Engineering, Manufacturing and Power Solutions Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 8+ years in Product Quality Engineering or similar in the semiconductor industry.
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on quality tools knowledge (APQP, AEC, VDA a plus).
• Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, packaging, testing, and failure mechanisms.
• Experience with data analysis to drive root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Ability to manage internal and external dynamics across time zones and customers.

• Report and present to internal (and external as needed) customers regularly documenting it as necessary.

The Product Quality Engineer is an important customer-facing, hands‑on role within the Corporate Quality team which owns product quality and interfaces daily with our business groups and divisions. Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor/ Quality and Engineering, or relevant field.
• 8+ years in Product Quality Engineering or a comparable role, in the semiconductor industry, e.g. Customer Quality (commercial and/or automotive), Reliability, Product Test, Failure Analysis or Product Engineering.
• Strong technical problem solving and hands‑on skills in quality tools and methodologies; Automotive knowledge, e.g. APQP, AEC and VDA a plus.
• Good knowledge of semiconductor device fabrication, package assembly and testing with familiarity of fail mechanisms and symptoms.
• Excellent ability to manage both internal and external dynamic environments and circumstances through influence and negotiation skills to respond to challenging information and situations.
• Candidate should have a solid quality / engineering background, along with good team collaboration and communication skills across worldwide time zones with a track record of accomplishments.
• Experienced in performing statistical data analysis to draw data‑based conclusions and guide investigations toward root cause finding and corrective actions.
• Knowledge and experience in design, fabrication, reliability and failure analysis of power electronics is preferred.
• Fluency in utilizing AI to enhance work efficiency is a plus.
