Job summary

Zscaler is seeking a Staff Product Designer to join our team in a Hybrid role (3 days at San Jose HQ). You will lead end-to-end product design across our cybersecurity products, using AI-powered tools and Figma to drive rapid ideation, prototyping, and delivery.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of UX and/or Product Design experience, including at least 5 years designing for enterprise or B2B products.
  • Strong product design portfolio showing shipped, world-class UX for complex enterprise products using tools like Figma or Sketch (portfolio link required).
  • Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with proven experience building and scaling global design systems.
  • Deep understanding of front-end constraints (HTML, CSS, JS frameworks) with fluency in reading code and working closely with engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating clarity, directness, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Role

We are looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our team. This is a Hybrid (3 days - San Jose HQ) role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Design in the Product Management department. The AI-Native Staff Product Designer is a hybrid of world-class design craft, systems thinking, and the ability to build what they design with the help of AI. This role designs and delivers end-to-end product experiences across Zscaler’s portfolio, using tools like Figma alongside AI-powered design and prototyping tools - from discovery through execution. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and AI teams, they create intuitive, cohesive experiences that drive adoption and retention while continuously evolving our UX practice as AI capabilities mature.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
  • Lead end-to-end product design for complex enterprise cybersecurity workflows across multiple Zscaler products, from discovery and concepting through prototyping, validation, implementation, and iteration.
  • Use AI-powered toolsalongside Figma and other design platforms to accelerate ideation, prototyping, content creation, design exploration, and overall delivery speed.
  • Design intuitive experiences for data-dense, highly technical, and configuration-heavy environments, balancing usability, clarity, scalability, and power.
  • Translate concepts into working prototypes and implementation-ready solutions, including using AI to generate, refine, and commit front-end code in close partnership with engineering.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Content Design, Research, Data Science, and AI teams to define problems, align requirements, and deliver cohesive user experiences.
  • Evolve design systems, UX standards, and AI-native design practices while maintaining a high bar for quality across interaction design, visual design, accessibility, research-informed decisions, and team mentorship.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Demonstrated AI-native mindset with active, daily use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, or equivalent) to enhance design, build, documentation, and iteration workflows
  • 8+ years of UX and/or Product Design experience, including at least 5 years designing for enterprise or B2B products
  • Strong product design portfolio showing shipped, world‑class UX for complex enterprise products using tools like Figma or Sketch (portfolio link required)
  • Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with proven experience building, contributing to, and scaling global design systems
  • Deep understanding of front‑end constraints (HTML, CSS, JS frameworks) with fluency in reading code and working closely with engineering implementation

Base Pay Range

$137,200 - $196,000 USD
