Job summary

Peregrine is seeking a Staff Product Designer to shape the design direction for how public safety teams work with data. You’ll partner with Design, Engineering, and Product leadership to turn complex, data-dense workflows into intuitive solutions.

Located in the San Francisco or New York area, this role offers mentorship, design-system work, and opportunities to elevate craft from research through launch, influencing across teams and shaping the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading the design of complex software products with focus on user experience.
• Strong portfolio showing craft and ability to lead and ship.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across Design, Engineering, and Business teams.
• Experience mentoring designers and shaping design systems.

• As a Staff Product Designer at Peregrine, you’ll help set the design direction for how public safety teams work with data
• Understanding our users is core to this role, so you’ll have ample opportunities to see Peregrine in the field and bring those insights back to shape the roadmap
• You’ll partner with Design, Engineering, and Product leadership to define the digital renaissance of public safety and delight users who seldom get to use outstanding software, transforming complex, data-dense workflows into intuitive solutions
• We’re looking for a deeply curious and inventive Staff Product Designer to lead the design of end-to-end experiences across a vast data platform
• You’ll move fluidly from research and problem framing to strategy to the craft and finish of every detail, and you’ll raise the bar for the designers around you
• Lead our most ambitious design initiatives, from problem definition through launch, to deliver a well-executed and highly polished product that will delight users
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence across Design, Engineering and Business Development teams, defining scope and prioritization to ensure high-quality outcomes
• Lead and elevate design critiques with the Design and Leadership teams
• Partner with leadership to define the product strategy and craft a compelling narrative that inspires team members toward a unified outcome
• Mentor other designers and help grow the Design discipline in a company that values exceptional user experience, including shaping our design systems, asset library, and the practices that define how we work
