Job summary

T1 Energy Inc. is building a domestic solar manufacturing capability in the U.S. We are seeking a seasoned Process Engineer to lead TOPCon unit processes, drive stability, and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, and QA teams.

You will mentor engineers and contribute to technology transfer as we scale a new fab environment. Ideal candidates hold a MS/BS in a relevant field with 6+ years of solar cell process experience and hands-on expertise in PECVD/LPCVD, diffusion, and ALD.

Qualifications

• TOPCon practitioner with hands-on development and manufacturing experience.
• Bachelor's/Master's in a related field.
• Experience with TOPCon unit processes and associated toolsets.
• Mentoring or guiding junior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Lead process engineering activities for key TOPCon unit processes, including tunnel oxide, polysilicon deposition, diffusion, passivation, and/or metallization
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process engineers supporting your assigned process areas
• Drive process stability and continuous improvement, using data to identify and close yield and efficiency gaps
• Establish and maintain process baselines, control plans, and process documentation for owned process steps
• Partner with Equipment, Metrology, and Quality teams to ensure process and tool readiness, control, and compliance
• Lead root cause analysis for yield excursions, efficiency losses, and cell performance deviations within your process area
• Support technology transfer and process qualification activities for new tools, materials, and process flows
• Collaborate with R&D and device engineering on next-generation process development and integration
• Represent your process area in cross-functional technical reviews and discussions

• A TOPCon practitioner — you know the technology well and have hands-on development and manufacturing experience to back it up
• A technical contributor who can operate effectively at both the bench and in cross-functional discussions
• Rigorous and methodical in your approach to process development, with a strong instinct for where problems are hiding
• Collaborative and effective across engineering disciplines, operations, and external partners
• Energized by the challenge of scaling advanced cell technology in a new fab environment

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• 6+ years of process engineering experience in solar cell fabrication, with specific experience in TOPCon technology
• Solid understanding of TOPCon unit processes including tunnel oxide growth, polysilicon deposition, doping, and/or contact formation
• Hands-on experience with PECVD, LPCVD, diffusion furnaces, ALD, or related toolsets
• Working knowledge of process integration, yield analysis, and statistical process control
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineersExposure to technology transfer activities from development to high-volume production
