Job summary

MAP SSG is seeking Staff/Principal Software Engineer — Full Stack, Developer Platform, fully remote across the United States. This hands-on, product-focused role involves owning complex full-stack initiatives, building scalable APIs, and shaping the tech direction across teams.

You'll work with Go, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Temporal, lead cross-team projects, mentor engineers, and deliver developer-facing experiences for an enterprise customer base.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of professional software engineering experience including staff/principal leadership.
• Hands-on full-stack experience across frontend, backend, databases, and multiple languages.
• Experience building products at high-growth startups with product-led growth and enterprise customers.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex technical projects spanning multiple teams.
• Experience collaborating with product and design stakeholders; familiarity with Go, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, Temporal.
• Familiarity with modern build, deployment, and software delivery practices.
• Ability to balance technical quality with product priorities and speed.

Staff / Principal Software Engineer — Full Stack, Developer Platform

Remote — United States | $260,000–$320,000 Base | Full-Time

We're partnering with a well-funded, high-growth cloud infrastructure company building a developer-first platform used by millions of engineers worldwide.

The company is expanding its engineering organization and hiring four Staff/Principal-level Software Engineers to build products that help growing teams and enterprise customers deploy, manage, and scale their applications.

This is a hands-on, product-focused engineering role for someone who enjoys owning complex full-stack initiatives, working closely with product and design, and influencing technical direction across teams.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and delivery of full-stack products and features, from architecture through production.
• Build developer-facing experiences that make sophisticated infrastructure accessible and intuitive.
• Develop scalable APIs, backend services, database integrations, and modern web interfaces.

What We're Looking For

• 11+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff, Principal, or equivalent technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong, hands-on full-stack engineering experience across frontend frameworks, backend APIs, relational databases, and multiple programming languages.
• Experience building products at high-growth startups, ideally with product-led growth and enterprise customers.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex technical projects spanning multiple teams.
• Experience collaborating directly with product and design stakeholders.Experience with or familiarity with several technologies in the following ecosystem: Go, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Temporal.
• Familiarity with modern build, deployment, and software delivery practices.
• Ability to balance technical quality, product priorities, and execution speed.

Experience developing cloud platforms, developer tools, SaaS infrastructure, or enterprise software is particularly valuable.

This is a product engineering position, not a pure infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE role.
