Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a staff-level reliability engineer for its Australia-based Corporate Technology team. You will set standards for reliability across cloud, on‑premise, and platform tooling, ensuring accreditation and disciplined design at scale.

Lead automation, drive incidents to structural fixes, mentor engineers, and shepherd ISM/PSPF accreditation across multi‑domain environments while collaborating with software, autonomy, and maritime engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Approximately twelve or more years in infrastructure, reliability or platform engineering with emphasis on practical impact over formal credentials.
  • Proven track record of running production toolchains and classified-domain infrastructure end-to-end, with deep knowledge across multiple layers and the ability to set a team standard.
  • Authoritative across cloud-native environments (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes) and classified on-premises estates (Windows, Active Directory, VMware, air-gapped).

Responsibilities

  • Set the standard for how the estate is run, kept reliable and accredited across cloud, orchestration, operating systems, networking and the application toolchain, ensuring consistency across rotations.
  • Be the source of design others build and run from, working at platform scale and anticipating second-order effects and organizational constraints.
  • Diagnose systemic reliability issues and drive structural fixes across multiple classification domains, rather than applying only patches.
  • Set the team’s automation standard with exemplary code, deliberate choices around safety, idempotency and maintainability.
  • Maintain the estate’s ISM/PSPF posture as the team’s authority and guide how accreditation is approached across multi-domain environments.
  • Provide thought leadership to apply reliability and secure-toolchain practices across software, autonomy and Maritime engineering teams.

Job description

Overview

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s Lattice OS turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. The company is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

Anduril Australia’s Corporate Technology team manages the infrastructure and toolchains across cloud and on‑premises environments to support programs like XL‑AUV. We are seeking a staff‑level reliability engineer who sets the standard for reliability across the estate and acts as a source of design for others to build from, while ensuring discipline and accreditation across the team.

What You’ll Do
  • Set the standard for how the estate is run, kept reliable and accredited across cloud, orchestration, operating systems, networking and the application toolchain, ensuring consistency across rotations.
  • Be the source of design others build and run from, working at platform scale and anticipating second‑order effects and organizational constraints.
  • Diagnose systemic reliability issues and drive structural fixes across multiple classification domains, rather than applying only patches.
  • Set the team’s automation standard with exemplary code, deliberate choices around safety, idempotency and maintainability (coding and automation, not production service development).
  • Maintain the estate’s ISM/PSPF posture as the team’s authority and guide how accreditation is approached across multi‑domain environments.
  • Provide thought leadership to apply reliability and secure‑toolchain practices across software, autonomy and Maritime engineering teams.
  • Mentor the team to raise automation, systems design and infrastructure craft across all layers.
Required Qualifications
  • Approximately twelve or more years in infrastructure, reliability or platform engineering with emphasis on practical impact over formal credentials.
  • Proven track record of running production toolchains and classified‑domain infrastructure end‑to‑end, with deep knowledge across multiple layers and the ability to set a team standard.
  • Authoritative across cloud‑native environments (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes) and classified on‑premises (Windows, Active Directory, VMware, air‑gapped) estates.
  • Direct ownership of ISM/PSPF accreditation and significant influence over how an estate is run.
  • Exemplary scripting and automation judgement with ability to set and uphold automation standards across a team.
  • Systems‑design authority at platform scale with clear communication of reliability and accreditation trade‑offs to diverse audiences.
  • AU citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain an Australian NV2 security clearance (existing NV2 or equivalent preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep experience in highly regulated environments (Defence or other Critical Infrastructure), setting accreditation approaches across multi‑domain environments.
  • History of influencing reliability and secure‑toolchain practice beyond your own team.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and setting team‑wide standards for automation and infrastructure craft.
  • Software‑engineering depth (e.g., production service development in Go or Rust) is welcome and can open more software‑heavy roles, but is not required for this role.
Benefits and Compensation

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on base salary factors. Actual offer may vary based on experience, education, and business considerations. Equity grants are included in most full‑time offers as part of total compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees to support health and wellness.
