Job summary

Match Group in West Hollywood, CA is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer/SRE to design, implement, and support infrastructure components across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD platforms, and related tooling. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; 5 years of experience in platform/software engineering (DevOps/SRE).
• Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; 3 years of experience in platform-focused software engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
• 3 years of experience administering a Kubernetes-based platform (cloud-based multi-cluster environments, including EKS).
• 3 years of experience administering Linux systems, including Linux containers, with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• 3 years of experience configuring observability tools with alerts and incident management.
• 2 years of experience supporting a large-scale microservice platform with CI/CD, ingress/egress, service mesh, and data stores.
• 2 years of cross-functional collaboration with security, IT, and FinOps.
• 2 years of experience with AWS or GCP and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• 2 years of software development with Java or scripting in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support infrastructure components (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and third-party tools).
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues to support engineering and maintain business continuity.
• Develop standardized infrastructure and configurations for reliability, observability, scalability, and performance.
• Evaluate and adopt improvements to infrastructure systems as technologies evolve.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design development lifecycle processes (version control, CI/CD, tests, releases, monitoring).
• Work with product, security, IT, and finance to ensure timely delivery, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide knowledge sharing through interviews, sessions, and peer learning about infrastructure solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and implement approved initiatives to improve the infrastructure roadmap.

Job description

Job Duties:

• Design, implement, and support infrastructure components, including AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD platforms, and other third-party solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues to support engineering teams and maintain continuity of business operations.
• Develop and maintain standardized infrastructure, backend, and database configurations to ensure systems are consistent, reliable, observable, scalable, and performant.
• Evaluate and implement improvements to infrastructure systems as technologies and operational practices evolve.
• Design and implement development lifecycle processes in collaboration with backend engineers, including version-control repository structures, CI/CD workflows, test automation practices, release processes, documentation standards, and monitoring and alerting configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, security, IT, and finance, to ensure timely delivery, infrastructure security, cost-effectiveness, and more.
• Provide technical assistance and knowledge sharing to engineering team members by participating in interviews, delivering technical knowledge-sharing sessions, and supporting peer learning related to infrastructure systems and tooling.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry practices relevant to infrastructure engineering and implement approved technical initiatives to support infrastructure roadmap objectives and system improvements.

Salary: $160,513.00 - $192,835.00 per year

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; and 5 years of experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or in any occupation, position, or job title performing platform-focused software engineering, DevOps engineering, or site reliability engineering.

Alternate Requirements: Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; and 3 years of experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or in any occupation, position, or job title performing platform-focused software engineering, DevOps engineering, or site reliability engineering.

Must also have the following experience:

• 3 years of professional experience administering a Kubernetes-based platform, including supporting multi-cluster setup and clusters hosted on cloud-based platforms including EKS.
• 3 years of professional experience administering Linux systems, including Linux-based containers, with demonstrated ability to perform system performance tuning and troubleshooting operating system issues.
• 3 years of professional experience configuring and administering observability tools, including establishing alerts and incident management ceremonies.
• 2 years of professional experience supporting a large-scale microservice-based platform, including maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, observability systems, ingress/egress, service-to-service communication (mesh), and service-to-resource (RDBMes, messaging/streaming, and caches).
• 2 years of professional experience working with cross-functional teams, including security, IT, and finance, responding to security, compliance issues, and FinOps-related tasks.
• 2 years of professional experience with cloud platforms including AWS or GCP, involving management of multiaccount, multiregion environments provisioned using infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform.
• 2 years of professional experience developing software using a compiled language including Java or developing and scripting in an interpreted language including Python.

$160,513 - $192,835 a year
