Job summary

Arm is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to own critical technical deliveries across the engineering platform. You will work hands-on to enable CI/CD, large-scale artifact systems, and cloud-based services for Arm's software and hardware teams, driving automation and platform improvements.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering groups to deliver developer experiences at scale, with a strong emphasis on automation, IaC, and container-based ecosystems in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing, provisioning and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
  • Experience with CI/CD and SDLC tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab).
  • Experience containerising with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD.
  • Programming/scripting: Bash, Python, Ruby; languages including Go, Rust, C, C++, Java.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical deliveries from requirements through planning, implementation and delivery.
  • Provide first-class engineering experience across Arm's hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Develop and maintain core services in cloud environments and large-scale clusters.

Job description

Staff DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a dedicated Software and Platform Engineer to join our team and have a significant impact in improving the engineering experience at Arm.

Engineering IT supplies the tools and systems needed for creation of our software and hardware IP. Within this group, the Engineering Platform Services function provides tooling used across the company’s engineering population, as well as focusing on the tooling needs of software engineers.

As a Staff Engineer at Arm you will own technical deliveries, with responsibility from requirements through to planning, implementation, and delivery.

Responsibilities

Working hands-on with a variety of technologies, to provide a first-class engineering experience for Arm's hardware and software engineers. The domains and areas include:

  • Enable Software build and test through CI/CD, build frameworks, large scale artifact distributed systems.
  • Develop and maintain core services using cloud-based environments and large-scale clustered compute.
  • Exploiting virtualization and cloud technologies using Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • AI Platform adoption (MCPs, Developer Tooling and LLMs)

Our varied activities involve development, and operational work. We support and guide the engineering community on how best to utilise the services we offer. Developments range from minor improvements to multi-month strategic projects. We invest significant time collaborating with other engineering teams at Arm.

Required Skills And Experience
  • Experience of Linux based infrastructure design, provisioning, and maintenance.
  • Excellent knowledge of Cloud services and experience of at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
  • Common SDLC tools – such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab.
  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
  • Interpreted languages (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby) and compiled languages (e.g. Golang, Rust C, C++, Java).
  • Experience with AI tooling: MCP, Agents, etc.
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment, with the associated focus on developer experience and productivity, and the ethos of enabling self-service access to infrastructure and systems through automation.
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • An active interest in Open-Source Software.
  • Experience of Microservice Software development.

Salary Range:

$191,100-$258,500 per year
