Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a Staff Physician to support the Eligibility Appeals Board in ADA-compliant reviews of AAR eligibility decisions. The role requires NY medical licensure, residency training, and board certification in internal medicine or primary care, with strong communication and analytical skills

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of at least one year of residency and/or clinical equivalent.
• Current, valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York.

Responsibilities

• Assist Eligibility Appeals Sr. Director with conducting eligibility appeals via in-person hearings, telephone, or video conferencing.
• Review applications and medical documentation to ensure ADA compliance in paratransit eligibility decisions.
• Attend meetings/calls related to eligibility appeals and support appeal decisions when an Article 78 proceeding is filed.
