POSITION SUMMARY

Pharmacists are responsible or the distribution of prescription drugs to patients. They advise patients and health professionals on the side effects, interactions, and dosages of medications. In addition to filling prescriptions, pharmacists counsel patients on how to use prescription and over the counter medications. They also consult with doctors about medication therapy.

  • 2. Ensure and uphold the confidentially requirements of all patient records, and manage all daily task and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the clinic's policies and regulations regarding confidentiality and security.

  • 3. Assures that all payments issued are appropriate and documented as ordered and received.

  • 4. Develop and ensure effective, positive relationships within and among the clinic staff, as well as with patients, vendors, contractors, and related resources.

  • 5. Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.

PRIMARY TASKS & DUTIES


  1. Checks prescriptions for correct dosage and for drug interactions or incompatibilities

  2. Compounds prescribed medications.

  3. Provides counseling to patients and healthcare providers.

  4. Interpret and fill physicians prescriptions for customers on a daily basis

  5. Verify all patient information ,

  6. Perform order entry of prescriptions into the required Pharmacy software

  7. Contact physicians and providers if necessary

  8. Provide a professional and confidential work environment at all times.

  1. Function in a multi-tasking, multiple priorities environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  2. Utilize a wide variety of office technology and tools to collect, enter, process, file patient records and documentation.

  5. Ability to establish, maintain, and promote effective working relationships.

  6. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workflow and activities.

  • College Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD or BS).

Physical/Environmental


  • Ability to interact with computer screen for up to six hours at a time (visual acuity required)

  • Must have manual dexterity for use of keyboard. Ability to remain stationary for periods of up to four hours. Ability to communicate via phone, mail and in person to resolve disputes, solve problems, etc.

  • Capacity to function in a sometimes stressful, multi-tasking environment.
