Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Remote Staff Pharmacist to support telepharmacy services for hospitals across multiple states. This role involves remote order entry, verification, drug information, dosing decisions, and collaboration with care teams in a fully remote setting.

You will navigate several PIS platforms, maintain compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy laws, and participate in ongoing training to meet productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Active and in good standing IL or CA state pharmacist license required.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses (IA, NE, HI).
• Strong clinical knowledge and comfort working across multiple systems.
• Ability to work hours that may include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Complete remote order entry, order verification, and drug verification.
• Transitions of care medication reconciliation.
• Navigate multiple pharmacy information systems (PIS).
• Provide drug information and therapeutic guidance to providers.
• Assess medication appropriateness, dosing, interactions, and compatibilities.
• Support specialized populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, pregnant/nursing patients, HIV, and those with renal/hepatic impairment.
• Maintain knowledge of IV therapies, TPN, cardiac/narcotic drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and more.
• Document interventions and clinical actions accurately and promptly.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and nurses.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy laws, and client policies.
• Work across VPNs, automation systems, and multiple PIS platforms.
• Use applications such as Google Suite/Microsoft Office and Snagit.
• Maintain required licenses, credentials, and system access.

Overnight Remote Staff Pharmacist Per Diem

Location : Remote, anywhere within the USSchedule : 7 on/7 off approximately 52 hours per pay period

About the Role

What You'll Do

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 54 - 91 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
