Primary Responsibilities
  • Processes physician drug orders including, but not limited to:
    • order entry into dispensing computer system
    • appropriate product selection
    • compounding
    • labeling and repackaging
    • delegating product preparation activities to pharmacy technicians
  • Consults with various health care professionals and provides information and guidance concerning drugs and their appropriate use
  • Comply with departmental and hospital policies and procedures
  • Assumes duties of Director of Pharmacy in his/her absence to manage daily departmental activities
  • Participates in and/or provides support to hospital committees as agreed upon by committee members and the Director of Pharmacy to help establish drug-related policies, criteria, or to monitor issues related to drugs i.e. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reports on the progress of the department for submission to the administration of the hospital
  • Assists the department and hospital in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards
  • Other duties as assigned, such as compliance audits, data entry, and charting

Required Qualifications
  • ACPE - accredited PharmD degree or BS of Pharmacy with recent pharmacist work experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some hospital pharmacy work experience
