Job summary

Centerpoint Health-Winchester is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to ensure safe and accurate dispensing across inpatient units, ED, and outpatient services. The role includes supervising pharmacy staff, supporting medication reconciliation, and collaborating with clinicians to optimize therapy.

The position requires current KY licensure, a Bachelor’s degree (Doctoral preferred), and hospital pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Current KY pharmacy licensure is required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; residency training desired.
• Bachelor's Degree required; Doctoral Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications across inpatient units, ED, and outpatient services.
• Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations including order entry, verification, and distribution.
• Evaluate medication orders for clinical appropriateness and formulary adherence.
• Support medication reconciliation and resolve discrepancies at admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Provide guidance to pharmacy technicians to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Collaborate with nurses and providers to resolve medication-related issues.
• Assist with operation and troubleshooting of automated dispensing cabinets and other technologies.
• Engage in medication safety initiatives, quality improvement, and cost-effective stewardship.
