Overview

The staff pharmacist is responsible for delivering the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time. The pharmacist will deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care. Each pharmacy employee understands how he or she contributes to Goshen Medical Center's vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families. The pharmacist will also ensure safe, effective, and affordable medication use in our communities, one person at a time. The pharmacist is a member of the healthcare team at Goshen Medical Center who supports authentic personalized relationships with patients and their chosen support system. He or she will collaborate with team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health. The pharmacist must accept responsibility, authority, accountability and ownership for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Determining training needs and making appropriate arrangements for provision of training.
• Corresponding with pharmacy director and pharmacy project manager to optimize sharing of information, use of state resources, and services provided.
• Functioning with considerable independence and receive administrative supervision from the Pharmacy Director and Pharmacy Project Manager.
• Fostering teamwork, team member engagement and community involvement.
• Committing to leveraging diversity and inclusion in support of quality care.
• Fostering a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm".
• Managing pharmacy staff, equipment and the pharmacy facility.
• Implementing management/risk assessment of pharmacy automation and informatics.
• Implementing and maintaining administration of the 340B program as directed by Goshen Medical Center.
• Determining resource needs and priorities and making recommendations to management.
