Job description

Staff Pharmacist

Join Duke University Health System as a Staff Pharmacist at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina.

At Duke Health, we are committed to compassionate care that changes lives. This role will coordinate the provision of high‑quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Involvement with multiple drug distribution functions, including computerized order entry and prospective review and verification of physicians' orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.
  • Perform defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives, including active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about order clarification or change, with documentation of intervention outcomes.
  • Engage in educational activities with pharmacist colleagues and other health care professionals to maintain and advance clinical competency regarding drug therapy.
  • Supervisory functions that provide professional oversight and direction of technicians' drug preparation and distribution activities to assure safe and expedient provision of pharmaceutical care to patients and staff.
Qualifications
  • Entry‑level pharmacy degree (e.g., B.Sc., PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Licensed Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
  • Preferred: Two (2) or more years of experience in a hospital or health system.
Schedule

Days vary: 0600‑1430, 0800‑1630, 1300‑2100. Rotating weekends and holidays 0700‑1900.
