  • Background check required prior to employment.
  • Employment contingent upon pre-employment background check.

Position Overview

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescription medications and providing professional pharmaceutical care to customers in accordance with all applicable pharmacy regulations and company policies. The Staff Pharmacist ensures prescriptions are processed accurately, provides guidance on medication use, and supports safe and effective pharmacy operations.

The Staff Pharmacist reports to the Pharmacist in Charge (Pharmacy Manager) and works collaboratively with pharmacy personnel, store leadership, healthcare providers, and customers to ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and maintain high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription Processing & Medication Management

  • Compound and dispense medications prescribed by physicians, dentists, and other authorized healthcare providers.
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, drug interactions, and patient safety considerations.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and controlled substances in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Patient Counseling & Customer Support

  • Advise customers on the proper use of medications, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, and interactions with other medications or substances.
  • Provide guidance on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
  • Assist customers with durable medical equipment and home healthcare supplies when applicable.

Pharmacy Operations & Equipment

  • Maintain pharmacy equipment and facilities in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure pharmacy areas remain organized, clean, and compliant with sanitation and safety standards.
  • Support inventory management of prescription medications and pharmacy supplies.

Compliance & Record keeping

  • Maintain required pharmacy records as mandated by company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and company operational standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of pharmacy records, patient information, and company operations.

Customer Service & Collaboration

  • Promote the highest level of customer service and professionalism when interacting with customers, healthcare providers, vendors, and employees.
  • Assist with customer service needs within the pharmacy and support store operations when appropriate.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with pharmacy staff, store management, and healthcare professionals.

Compliance & Company Standards

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines outlined in the Lynn's Inc. & Affiliates Primary Policy Manual.
  • Comply with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulatory requirements set by the State Board of Pharmacy and federal agencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and company operational matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or store leadership.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Must have completed required internship experience and successfully passed the applicable state board examinations.
  • Must maintain all Continuing Education (CE) requirements required for licensure in the state(s) where practicing.
  • Proof of continuing education must be provided to the Support Office and maintained in the employee's personnel file.
  • Employment in pharmacy positions is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check.
