Responsibilities
  • Measure and analyze product performance to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Design, implement, execute, analyze, interpret, socialize and apply storage‑oriented performance workloads and their results, including the creation of tools and automation as necessary.
  • Work closely with development teams to drive the performance improvement agenda.
  • Evaluate design alternatives for enhanced performance, and prototype opportunities for performance enhancements.
  • Create analytical and simulation‑based models to predict storage systems performance.
  • Handle non‑routine and unstructured tasks, requiring creative solutions with more interdependencies and less defined processes.
  • Apply attained experiences and knowledge to solve complex problems that require in‑depth evaluation.
  • Work effectively with Engineering, Vice‑President, Product Management, and external parties across functions.
  • Successfully convey information to stakeholders at many levels related to the position.
  • Work effectively with senior engineers within the Business Unit.
  • Participate as a proactive contributor and subject‑matter expert on team projects.
  • Demonstrate favorable results through regular coaching and mentoring others.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience is required; 10‑12 years is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Science, Master’s of Science, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Knowledge of performance analysis and modeling techniques, tools, and benchmarking.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in computer operating systems, hardware architecture and design, and data structures.
  • Strong scripting skills (GoLang, Python).
  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make accurate work estimates and develop predictable plans.
  • A creative and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of storage, file systems and backup/restore.
  • Knowledge of cloud instances, storage and networking resource limits.
  • Understanding of performance trade‑offs when designing on‑prem and cloud systems.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to rapidly changing work environments, and create/enhance automation frameworks (generally Python‑based) to improve productivity.

Pay Range: $203,101.00 – $225,668.26 (annualized hourly rate assuming normal full‑time employment)
