Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a seasoned PCB Design Engineer in Middletown, PA to own end-to-end PCB development—from concept through production release. You will design high-speed PCBs, define stack-ups, and generate detailed fabrication drawings while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet IPC/JEDEC/IEEE standards.

The role emphasizes Altium Designer proficiency, manufacturability considerations, and relentless attention to signal integrity and EMI/EMC compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 8–12 years of professional PCB design experience with emphasis on high-speed designs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture, PCB layout, and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication processes, materials, and DFM principles.
  • Experience with documentation packages (fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, gerbers, ODB++, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of impedance control, crosstalk, differential pair routing, and return path integrity.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity and power integrity simulation tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work in a global cross-functional environment.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, layout, and development of high-speed PCBs using Altium Designer.
  • Define PCB stack-up, routing strategies, and layout rules to ensure signal and power integrity and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Generate and maintain fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, and documentation packages.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to translate schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts.
  • Partner with fabrication and assembly vendors to validate manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform design reviews and implement feedback to ensure compliance with IPC/JEDEC/IEEE standards.
  • Troubleshoot design and fabrication issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in PCB design methodologies, tools, and processes.

Job Overview

As a PCB Design Engineer at TE Connectivity, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, layout, and documentation of printed circuit boards with a strong emphasis on high-speed digital designs. You will leverage your expertise in Altium Designer, PCB fabrication processes, and technical documentation to deliver high-quality designs that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. Working within a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, you will play a key role in developing next-generation connectivity solutions for datacenters, telecommunications, and advanced electronics platforms.

You will act as the subject matter expert for PCB design from concept through production release, ensuring compliance with electrical, mechanical, and industry standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

Required Skills/Experience

COMPENSATION
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $143,000 – $179,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
