Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks an experienced PCB Design Engineer in Costa Mesa, CA. You will work with engineers to create PCB designs for advanced systems, ensuring high reliability and manufacturability across complex boards.

The role requires 7+ years of PCB design experience, deep knowledge of IPC standards, and fluency with Altium Designer (Allegro a plus). You will collaborate with fab and assembly houses and contribute to multi‑project programs in a high‑security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar.
  • 7+ years of professional PCB design experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and apply best practices for each design.
  • Expertise in IPC standards, CID, CID+ certification.
  • Expertise in PCB fabrication processes, design rules, and best practices.
  • Experience with Altium Designer; Allegro a plus.
  • Experience building component libraries and library management.
  • Excellent communication with fab houses and assembly houses.
  • Experience with high density (>16 layers), power electronics, flex, RF, and high-speed digital interfaces.
  • Experience with HDI and thicker boards (>1.6mm).
  • Experience with USB, PCIe, Ethernet, SERDES, and DDR routing.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to produce PCB designs supporting Anduril's products.
  • Apply design standards to create high-reliability, manufacturable assemblies.
  • Implement high-speed digital, precision analog, RF, and high-power designs.
  • Lead guidelines for DFM, DFA, and fabrication outputs.
  • Develop and refine PCB design processes and library standards.
  • Coordinate external PCB resources during surges.
  • Juggle multiple projects and customers in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Work directly with engineers to produce printed circuit board designs supporting Anduril’s products.
  • Apply modern design standards and guidelines to create high-reliability, highly manufacturable assemblies.
  • Implement combinations of high-speed digital, precision analog, RF, and high-power designs.
  • Lead the team in establishing internal guidelines for design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and overall quality fabrication and assembly outputs.
  • Develop and refine team processes for PCB design, part creation, and library/database standards.
  • Coordinate external PCB design resources during design surges.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, having to juggle multiple concurrent projects and customers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar and 7+ years of professional experience in PCB design.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and apply best practices appropriate for each design.
  • Expertise in applying relevant IPC standards, CID, CID+ certification.
  • Expertise in PCB fabrication processes, limitations, design rules, and best practice.
  • Experience using Altium Designer CAD tools (Allegro is a plus).
  • Experience with developing component libraries and library management.
  • Excellent communication skills with multiple fab houses (ensuring boards are built to print).
  • Excellent communication skills with multiple assembly houses (ensuring boards are built to BOM).
  • Experience with a variety of board types, including high density and high layer count (greater than 16) digital designs, power electronics, flex circuits, and RF circuits.
  • Experience with HDI (high density interconnect) and thicker boards (greater than 1.6mm).
  • Experience with high speed digital interfaces and controlled impedance routing requirements like USB, PCIe, Ethernet, SERDES, and DDR memory.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiar with RF board design.
  • Experience with high-pin count packages (FPGA fanout).
  • Familiar with basic signal and power integrity rules (how they affect layout).

US Salary Range: $191,000 — $253,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
